As the unrest over the past year has unfolded, many people spoke about the difficulty that poorer neighborhoods deal with daily. Many neighborhoods are full of crime and poverty.  Schools in those neighborhoods don’t get the money they need to provide a proper education for the children. The people in these neighborhoods, particularly minorities, don’t have the opportunities that others have. Leaders of those communities have been saying that supporting black and other minority owned businesses can help fuel those communities and make a difference.
